Any dig can wake something in the temple. Each bonus game is a set-piece with its own character, music and rules.

Dig up a cursed obsidian idol, or flood the Curse Meter to the skull, and the temple turns on you. The Chieftain takes over and digs by himself while a cursed bounty stacks up. Phantom blasts can slash it before the spell lifts.

The temple's guardian crashes onto the board. Find his hoard and coins rain down while he storms off. Find bananas and he laughs you back to your digging. Either way, the expedition goes on.
A cherry wakes the reels: 2 to 7 free spins.
Find a cherry and the board turns into the Monkey King's slot machine. Line treasure up on the centre row to collect it, and use earned nudges to drag a prize onto the line. The cherry can strike again, up to three times in one round.
The temple re-buries the board, then smashes open a line of treasure.
The ground shakes and rubble covers everything. Tiles slide on their own until a full line of sun-face stones forms. Light floods through and the line bursts open one treasure at a time, pouring the whole haul into your pot.

A jolly old archaeologist turns up with a hunch. The board becomes dirt and bombs with one mega prize in the middle. The tiles flip and the sands shift, faster and faster. You get one dig. Usually it's nothing but soil, but not always.
